Start with a notebook page, two paper offcuts and a plain card. Put the card down first. Slide one offcut under its left edge and the other under its lower edge. Move them until the middle stays clear, write one sentence, then glue only after the arrangement works.
Digital arrangement, not a finished photograph; the example uses ordinary rectangles you can cut from your own scraps. Sizes are suggestions, not a required kit.
Try a 70 × 95 mm writing card with a 25 × 105 mm left strip and a 75 × 20 mm bottom strip. Leave the card's central 55 × 75 mm clear. A piece of light vintage paper can be an optional base; no printable is required.

A tiny timeline
Gather: Three small scraps, one pen.
Arrange left to right in the order you remember them.
Finish: Stop after writing one date or word per scrap.
One-color story
Gather: Three scraps sharing a color.
Vary their size. Put the smallest near your focal point.
Finish: Stop when there is space for one sentence.
Keep a blank place
Gather: Two scraps, one blank card.
Place the card first. Frame two sides with your scraps.
Finish: Stop when a sentence fits without crossing decoration.
If the page feels too busy
Take one scrap away. Keep one focal point, and test whether you can read the handwriting without moving the decoration. You do not need to fill every blank space or use every card in one sitting.
For your words, choose a short label or a larger note card. For a folded project, try the one-sheet memory book.
